There are two types of recording in QVR Pro, and each can have their own recording schedules. Normal Recordings Event Recordings

QVR Pro  provides 8 embedded monitoring channels, allowing you to quickly build a cloud surveillance environment hosted on your QNAP NAS  QVR Pro Client  allows you to monitor cameras that are connected to the  QVR Pro  server and flexibly switch between live and playback modes to take full control over the monitored area.  QVR Pro Client  can be installed on Windows ® , Mac ® , Ubuntu ®  devices or on the  QNAP  HybridDesk Station on the NAS. You can also install the mobile version on you iOS or Android devices from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Detecting Motion on QVR Pro Client E-map After having set up a  Motion Detection Event  from  QVR Pro  app on a NAS, we can view the event trigger from a  QVR Pro Client . How to Set Minimum or Maximum Number of Recording Days In this tutorial, we will be setting the minimum number of recording days to 2 days, and leave the maximum number of days undefined (default). In  QVR Pro , open  Recording Storage . Navigate into the  Recording Location and Days  tab, then click on the  Edit icon  under the desired camera. Under  Channel setting , select  Use custom settings  and set  Days  to  At Least 2 Days , then finally hit  Apply . How to Begin Recording on Event Detection in QVR Pro In this tutorial, we will be making the camera begin recording on motion detection. In  QVR Pro , open  Event Management .  Choose a name for your event and click  Next .  Under the  If  list, click on  Add  to add a trigger event. Since our goal in this tutorial is to detect motion, we need a device that can do just that. So we will have to configure our detector by clicking here.  Select  QVR Pro  as our  Detector  and click  Apply .  On the next pop-up, we will select  Not now  because we are already setting a rule.  We can then select our camera as the  Source  and click  Ok .  Under the  Then  list, click  Add . How to Export Recordings from QVR Pro Client Open your  QVR Pro Client , then login with the  QVR Pro ’s IP address and the proper login credentials. Drag the camera that is recording your desired video segment into the main view.  Click on the  Export Recordings  icon.  We can select the export settings from this window. In this tutorial, we will export a 5-minute segment from our recording, so we will change  Duration  to  5 minutes  and leave the other settings as default. By checking  Advanced Settings , you can select the output format and other specifications. How to Connect a USB Camera to QVR Pro Add your webcam to QUSBCam2 View the USB Camera in QVRPro Add your webcam to QUSBCam2 1.  Install  QUSBCam2  from the  App Center 2.  Setup the  QUSBCam2  application by opening the app and following the instructions. 3.  Ensure that a camera is connected to the NAS via  USB .
